School's Out, Get Outside!

Program for Children in Grades K-5

 

When school is not in session, students can spend a day at Briar Bush exploring the outdoors, meeting live animals, making crafts, playing in nature, and more! Be sure to pack a lunch, snacks, water bottle, and full change of clothes.

Day: Select Holidays and In-Service Days

Time/Cost:

  • Full-Day Session: 8:30am-3:30pm
    • Participant: $75.00; Abington Resident: $67.50; Briar Bush Member: $60.00
  • Half-Day Session: 1:00pm-3:30pm
    • Participant: $30.00; Abington Resident: $27.00; Briar Bush Member: $24.00
  • After-Care Session: 3:30pm-5:30pm
    • Participant: $12.00
Notes:
  • Please note that program dates are scheduled as either Half-Day OR Full-Day options, not both.
  • Registration is required. Sessions may close one week or more in advance of the date. Please take note of each session’s exact registration close date/time on the registration page.
  • A Medical and Pick-Up Consent Form is required to be completed for each participant before the program date. This form is valid from June through to the following May. You will need to log in to the registration system, complete the form, click 'Continue,' click 'Checkout,' then click 'Complete Order' in order for the form to be submitted. If you are not sure if you have completed the form, please email Melissa Eldridge at melissa@briarbush.org.
  • This is a drop-off program. Participants must come prepared with a backpack complete with a water bottle, snacks, lunch, and a change of clothes.
  • The program takes place indoors and outdoors, rain or shine, for varying durations of time. Dress appropriately for the weather. You will be contacted in the case of cancellation due to extreme weather.
  • Briar Bush Nature Center does not provide transportation from schools to the program on Half-Day Session dates.
  • Staff will check ID at pick-up.

If a session is not listed on the program selection page, the program may be full.
We are unable to accommodate participants over the program capacity.

Cancellation Policy
If you cancel the program 15 days or more before its start date, you will receive an 80% refund (20% service fee). No refunds will be issued within 14 days of the program start date. To cancel, email Melissa Eldridge at melissa@briarbush.org.
