DESCRIPTION:School's Out, Get Outside! \n  \n Program for Children in Grades K-5 \n  \n  \n  \n   \n  \n  \n When school is not in session, students can spend a day at Briar Bush exploring the outdoors, meeting live animals, crafting, playing in nature, and more!  \n  \n   \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n Location: Briar Bush Nature Center \n  \n  \n Season: Fall, Winter, Spring \n  \n Day: Select Holidays and In-Service Days for the 2026-2027 School Year \n  \n Time/Cost: \n  \n  \n  \n 	Full-Day Session: 8:30am-3:30pm \n  \n 	 \n 		Participant: $90.00; Abington Resident: $81.00; Briar Bush Member: $72.00 \n 	 \n 	 \n 	 \n 	After Care is available from 3:30pm-5:30pm after each session for $12.00 per participant. \n 	 \n  \n  \n  \n Notes: \n  \n  \n  \n 	 \n 	Registration is required. Sessions may close one week or more in advance of the date. Please take note of each session’s exact registration close date/time on the registration page. \n 	 \n 	 \n 	The School’s Out, Get Outside! Policies and Procedures document must be reviewed before registration and includes more information than outlined below. \n 	 \n 	 \n 	This program is open to children in Grades K-5. Depending on overall enrollment, children may remain together as one mixed-age group or be divided into two groups by age. \n 	 \n 	 \n 	The program will take place both indoors and outdoors, rain or shine, for varying durations of time.  \n  \n 	 \n 		 \n 		Please dress appropriately for the weather. You will be contacted in the case of cancellation due to extreme weather. \n 		 \n 		 \n 		The indoor portions of the program will take place in both accessible and non-accessible spaces. \n 		 \n 		 \n 		Trail surfaces include asphalt (accessible), woodchips, gravel, compacted soil, exposed roots, and/or water bars. The trails may be sloped/uneven. \n 		 \n 	 \n 	 \n 	 \n 	Program Participation Requirements \n  \n 	 \n 		 \n 		A Medical and Pick-Up Consent Form must be completed for each participant in advance of the program date.  \n  \n 		 \n 			 \n 			This form is valid from June through to the following May.  \n 			 \n 			 \n 			You will need to log in to the registration system, complete the form, click 'Continue,' click 'Checkout,' then click 'Complete Order' in order for the form to be submitted. You will receive a confirmation email of the submission.  \n 			 \n 			 \n 			If you are not sure if you have completed the form, please email Melissa Eldridge at melissa@briarbush.org.  \n 			 \n 		 \n 		 \n 		 \n 		Each participant must come prepared to the program with a backpack of the following items: \n  \n 		 \n 			 \n 			refillable water bottle \n 			 \n 			 \n 			non-refrigerated/no-heat lunch and snacks \n 			 \n 			 \n 			weather-appropriate clothing/gear (rain jacket/boots, sunscreen, insect repellent, snow gear/boots) \n 			 \n 			 \n 			full change of clothes (shirt, pants, underwear, socks, shoes) as participants may get extremely wet/dirty during activities \n 			 \n 		 \n 		 \n 		 \n 		Parents/guardians must be reachable by phone at all times during program hours in case of an incident or emergency.
